The New School Prayer

Surprisingly yet sadly, The only real purpose of mentioning God’s name in school is thanking Him it’s Friday. Growing up in a Public school, I would mention going to church and my peers would ask me ” Who died?” If we dated back to 20 years ago, Praying was the first thing you did at school. You would thank God for your family, dog, Friends, etc. I think if a student had the chance to pray in school it would go something like this.

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head, I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone, we must meditate,
The God’s name is prohibited by the state.

We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s “inappropriate” to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such “judgments” do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!



No Justice, no Peace…….

On November 25, In Ferguson, Missouri, – A white police officer will not face charges for for shooting an unarmed black teenager in a case that set off violent protests and racial unrest throughout the nation.

People all over the world have their own opinion and judgement on whether or not it is okay to have a violent protest in the street. Personally, I believe that what it happening to Ferguson with the violence is very wrong. Not because I am white or because I hate black people, but because I stand on this one speech from Robert F. Kennedy when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. This is the link to his full speech.

Something that he says that I find so powerful is

“We can move in that direction as a country, in greater polarization — black people amongst blacks, and white amongst whites, filled with hatred toward one another. Or we can make an effort, as Martin Luther King did, to understand, and to comprehend, and replace that violence, that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land, with an effort to understand, compassion, and love.”

He goes on to make this speech on a personal level about how he knows how it feels to have a loved one assassinated. In this time of trial, we need a Robert F. Kennedy. This “White vs Black” people is not something that is new. Edmund Burke said it best,

“Those who don’t know history, are doomed to repeat it”

I am NOT all about that bass.

  First off let me introduce my self. I am a regular teenage girl, with a lot to say. I have been wanting to do a blog for a few months but didnt think i could sum up everything i needed to say in a few paragraphs. I feel like what is going on now a days, its a perfect time to start a blog.

I know at one point in time we have all heared the song ” All about that bass” by Meghan Trainor. You might have even just started singing it. To be honest , I am a victim of constantly sing that song. After the million time of singing it i thought ” What am i actually singing?”

 Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I’m supposed to do

And all the right junk in all the right places

Okay, so, yeah. Maybe not a size two. But not fat or “plus-size” by any means. Don’t let the unflattering dress trick your eye. This girl is not a fat girl. This whole concept of not-fat women believing they need to call attention to their not-fat bodies in order to promote body acceptance is something i dont comprehend. I call this the “fatcceptable movement.” Notice I didn’t say “fat acceptance movement” or “body acceptance movement.”The fatcceptable movement shows that there is only one type of “real” woman, and any outliers are less sexually attractive to men. You have probley offton heard the slogon ” Real women have cerves”

“I’m bringing booty back/Go ahead and tell them skinny b****s that/No I’m just playing I know you think you’re fat/but I’m here to tell ya every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top”

This verse perfectly shows what is wrong with this song. What could be a positive message comes out as a backhanded compliment. Sure, every inch of you is perfect no matter what, but this message is great to make plus sized women to make you feel good about your self. Its is also great at mocking the appearance of very slim girls.

On a very serious note, today’s society Shows that if you are not 90 pounds. You are not perfect. Period. I could also not disagree anymore.I am gonna leave you with this.
